From podcasts and short films to community storytelling and event coverage, we connect people to hands-on creative experiences that build confidence, collaboration, and connection. Our workshops, artist talks, and creative labs offer mentorship, inspiration, and the tools to turn ideas into real-world projects.
More than a media space, Magic Hour Creative is a community for makers and storytellers—a place where creativity thrives, voices are heard, and every idea gets its moment in the light.

THE CREW BEHIND THE MAGIC
Nathan W. Fullerton
Co-Founder
Nathan Fullerton has spent over 30 years in digital media — from CMU's Robotics Institute to co-founding a corporate video tech company to 15 years as one of Apple's original in-store Creatives and Creative Guest Trainers. A filmmaker who's done every job on set, he's won Best Director, Best Cinematography, and Audience Choice at the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Film Project, with credits including Scream Park and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Now he's bringing that experience to Pittsburgh teens as co-founder of Magic Hour Creative.
Trisha Hosac
Co-Founder
Trisha Hosac is a Pittsburgh-based creative producer driven by a simple, fundamental goal: turning ideas into reality. She loves working with other creatives and mentoring teens, she serves as a collaborative partner, networker, and guide. Trisha built her career in film and media, but her true passion lies in the creative process itself—helping others navigate challenges, refine their vision, and bring their projects to life. For Trisha, the work is rooted in creating a safe, inclusive environment where every voice is heard, ideas are collaborative rather than dismissed, and creators feel encouraged to use their full creativity and find happiness in that.
Randall Cole
Teaching Artist / Content Strategist / Digital Artist / Board Member
Randall Cole is an independent photographer, videographer, social media coordinator, actor, and model based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. With a strong background in film and digital media, Randall, as a Point Park University graduate of 2018, combines formal education, hands-on industry experience, technical camera expertise, and a distinctive approach to marketing, editing, and visual storytelling.
In addition to producing independent creative work, Randall collaborates with media companies, modeling agencies, musicians, small businesses, and other creative professionals across a wide range of projects.
Vic Costik
Designer / Operations Manager / Board Secretary
Vic Costik is a designer and creative strategist working at the intersection of design and community. After starting in arts education — at The Met, the Smithsonian, and Fusion Academy — Vic came to Pittsburgh for a Master's in Design at Carnegie Mellon and stayed, helping scale fintech startup IRALOGIX from a one-person UX team into a Director of Design role leading a team of five, work Vic now extends by teaching design at the Pittsburgh Center for Arts and Media. Vic brings that same human-centered approach to the Pittsburgh Pride Group, TransYOUniting, Out in Tech, and ReelQ, and co-hosts the Pittsburgh-focused podcast New Rust. That blend of design expertise and local investment is what Vic brings to Magic Hour Creative.
Edwin Huang
Teaching Artist / Mentor / Board Member
Edwin Huang brings a rare mix of technical range and mentorship to Magic Hour Creative. He studied Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Carnegie Mellon, then spent years as a Pittsburgh startup executive before pivoting into video production, teaching himself to shoot and edit with equipment inherited from a former employer. That leap grew into a freelance career serving clients like Verizon, Mitsubishi, The Hillman Foundation, and Apple, plus current work streaming broadcasts for two international hockey leagues and creative credits including DP on "Evenings in Quarantine: The Zombie Opera" and cast/crew on Amazon's "Beginnings." Having lived the exact journey many students dream about, Edwin brings that same practical, client-ready mindset into every lesson he teaches.

CREATIVE EXPLORATION
In the future, we hope to offer hands-on areas for sewing, costume-making, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, and prop building, along with studios for sound, music, photography, animation, and motion design. We also want to make room for storytelling in every form—writing, performance, and more. Our wish list is long, and we're always looking for partners, donors, and community members who want to help us build it.

ABOUT MAGIC HOUR ACADEMY
We're all about making ideas roll—from sparks of inspiration to finished projects.
Magic Hour Academy started because we saw (and felt!) the gaps in access, mentorship, and real-world creative opportunities for people who just want to make cool stuff. Many of our programs grew out of our own experiences in the creative world — and our mission is to make sure everyone who wants to create gets that same opportunity.
We launched in summer 2025 and we're excited to keep growing with open hours and new offerings coming in 2026.
